FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br /> CENTRAL MASTER CONTROL EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />GENERAL--Central Master Control Equipment, including VMS-220 Master <br />Controller and all peripheral equipment, consists of a complete system <br />of electrical computer mechanisms for controlling the operations of <br />traffic control signals, including the timing mechanisms and all <br />necessary auxiliary equipment mounted in cabinets and conforming to the <br />operation specified herein. <br /> <br />Unless otherwise specified, all equipment shall conform to the <br />provisions of Section 86 of the Standard Specifications and to the <br />applicable Standard Plans for the State of California, Business and <br />Transportation, Department of Transportation, dated January, 1981. <br />References contained herein to Section 86, or portions thereof, refer to <br />Section 86, or portions thereof, of the Standard Specifications. <br /> <br />EQUIPMENT LIST AND DRAWINGS--Equipment list and drawings of electrical <br />equipment and material shall conform to the provisions in Section <br />86-1.03, "Equipment List and Drawings," of the Standard Specifications <br />and these Special Provisions. Additionally, the Contractor shall suNit <br />to the Engineer for his approval a shop drawing of the service <br />connection to the central master controller. <br /> <br />The supplier shall furnish operation and maintenance manuals for the <br />central master controller and auxiliary equipment. The Maintenance <br />Manual and Operation Manual may be combined into one manual. The <br />Maintenance Manual or combined Maintenance and Operation Manual shall be <br />submitted at the time the central master controller is delivered. The <br />Maintenance Manual shall include, but need not be limited to, the <br />following items: <br /> <br /> 1. Specifications <br /> 2. Design characteristics <br /> 3. General operation theory <br /> 4. Function of all controls <br /> 5. Trouble shooting procedure (diagnostic routine) <br /> 6. Block circui-t diagram <br /> 7. Geographical layout of components <br /> 8. Schematic diagrams <br /> g. List of replaceable component parts with stock numbers <br /> <br />Controller schematic wiring diagrams, equipment component layouts, and <br />other service information may be compiled in foldup or booklet. <br /> <br />INTENT OF SPECIFICATIONS--The purpose of this Specification is to <br />describe the functional operation and minimm capabilities and features <br />for the Central Master Control System, inclusive of local intersection <br />coordination equipment. The Purchaser reserves the right to accept or <br />reject any equipment or functionally equivalent devices proposed in lieu <br />of the foregoing Specifications. <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
