The number of actuations registered for each <br /> detector, in programmable time increments of not less than 15 <br /> minutes, shall be continually logged and printed out at the end <br /> -_. of the 24 hour period. <br /> <br /> TRAINING. Within 10 working days after acceptance of equipment, the <br /> Contractor shall submit a prol~osed plan for training operations and <br /> maintenance personnel. Dates, schedules and location of training site <br /> shall be mutually agreed upon by the Contractor and the Engineer. <br /> <br /> Training shall be provided consisting in general of 3 parts as follows:' <br /> <br /> ~ (1) System Operations and Master Progranmning. A minimum of 443 hours <br />~ t~aining shall be provided"~or operations personnel on the <br /> .~ procedures involved in selecting and changing system operating <br /> ~, conditions and in programming the ccmputer. This course shall be <br />~ ~ geared toward individuals with a basic knowledge of electronics and <br /> traffic signal operation. Hands:on experience in programing shall <br /> be included. <br /> <br /> (2) System Maintenance and Trouble shooting. A minimum of 40 hours <br /> training sh~ll b~ prov(ded for ~i'htenahce personnel in maintenance <br /> and diagnostics of the system, the intersection controller <br /> assemblies and the surveillance assemblies. <br /> <br /> (3) Combined Operation and lqaintenance Follow-up. A minimum of 40 <br /> hours' shi)l"be provided 'for m&intenance and operations personnel in <br /> combined operation and maintenance follow-up training shall be <br /> provided after installation of the system but before expiration of <br /> the guarantee period. This course wil 1 be informally presented <br /> with emphasis on filling in training areas not covered previously <br /> or fully understood. T. his training need not be presented <br /> continuously but may be requested for short intervals as needed by <br /> operations and/or maintenance personnel. <br /> <br /> The training courses shall be taught by experienced instructors at <br /> a site provided by the Contractor. Training facilities shall be <br /> provided for 20 trainees at each session. The Contractor shall <br /> provide all instructors and instructional materials including at <br /> least workbooks, guides, training aids, systems and controller <br /> technical manuals, master and an intersection margin release <br /> controller of the same type and model to be installed, anti all <br /> other necessary material s for up to 20 trainees. <br /> <br /> Training sessions (1) and (2) above shall be conducted continuously <br /> for a minimum of six hours each working day until course conclusion <br /> unless otherwise approved by the engineer. <br /> <br /> Intersection Control <br /> <br /> It shall be possible for the operator to select the following modes <br /> of operation for any intersection under computer control at the master. <br /> <br /> -13- <br /> <br /> <br />
