(2) Peripheral Hardware <br /> <br />Peripheral hardware equipment to be installed in the master control <br />center shall include a voice communications system and a keyboard <br />printer terminal unit. Each unit of the peripheral equipment shall be <br />sel f-contai ned. <br /> <br />a. A telephone receiver and transmitter for the purpose of voice <br /> communication shall be provided for the master control center <br /> station of the telephone communication system. The telephone system <br /> shall function with capabilities for voice communications over one <br /> separate pair of communication lines between the master control <br /> center and the local intersection controller assemblies and the <br /> surveillance assemblies. Up to sixteen, but no less than 4, local <br /> controller cabinets may be serviced by one corn-line pair for voice <br /> communication system. Communications access into the master <br /> computer sSiall be provided over the same pair of lines by using a <br /> portable cathode ray terminal and acoustic coupler. The system <br /> shall have provisions for placing incoming calls from local <br /> intersection controller assemblies and surveillance assemblies onto <br /> a telephone in an office adjacent to the master control center or to <br /> the signal maintenance shop via the "intercorn circuit". Cable <br /> connections shall be made in a wall-mounted telephone terminal box. <br /> <br /> Arresters shall be provided for lightning protection on all incoming <br /> data and voice conmnunication lines to the master control console. <br /> <br />b. A keyboard printer terminal unit shall be provided on which hard <br /> copy required will be printed. The unit shall operata on 8-level <br /> code which is compatible with the American Standard Code for <br /> Information Interchange (ASCII). It shall be provided w:th a 4-row <br /> keyboard similar to an office typewriter. The unit shall operate at <br /> no less than 30 characters per second and shall have a carriage <br /> return which will automatically return the carriage to the left <br /> margin_ and move to the next typing position. Unit shall have <br /> integr'al noise suppression to limit noise level to that of normal <br /> office typewriter. <br /> <br /> A means shall be provided for automatically turning the complete <br /> unit on by con~na~ fran the computer. The unit shall shut off as <br /> required after its last receipt of a transmission from the computer. <br /> ,- <br /> <br />( 3 ) Wal 1 -Mounted Di splay Map ~ <br /> <br />The wall display map shall be designed and constructed to displ~ the <br />following information: <br /> <br />a. Green LED's shall indicate through-phase green movements on each <br /> main street. <br />b. Yellow LED's shall indicate cross-phase green movements on each side <br /> street. <br />c.
