BACKGROUND <br />On December 6, 1983 the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1113 approving the <br />original Development Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and the developer <br />Callahan-Pentz Properties, Pleasanton, a California General Partnership. This <br />Agreement outlined the facts, understandings, and intentions related to the <br />development of the Hacienda Business Park Planned Unit Development. The Planned <br />Unit Development, PUD-81-30, was adopted by the City Council as Ordinance No. 1109 <br />on November 22, 1983. <br />The Development Agreement was approved for a period of twenty-five (25) years, which <br />would protect the interests of the citizens in the quality of their community and <br />environment through the approved Planned Unit Development (PUD-81-30) as well as <br />protect the investment of the developer through the planned buildout of Hacienda <br />Business Park. <br />The City Council has approved two additional amendments to the Development <br />Agreements for Phase I and Phase II. One of the amendments included a change to <br />the expiration date of the Agreements, extending it to December 31, 2008. <br />There are nine (9) sites which are affected by this request as shown in the figure below: <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
