City of Pleasanton City Grant Fisca/ Year 2008/09 Requirements and limitations a) Applicants must have nonprofit status and a 501(c)3 State identification number, and a current City Business License. b) Applicants must be a community- based organization promoting and providing direct services to residents in the City in the arts, youth, or human services areas. c) Applicants who represent funding foundations or other funding agencies are only eligible for projects that provide a specified direct service to clients/participants only. Funds cannot be used as pass-through dollars for scholarships or agency administration services. d) Funds cannot be used to reimburse expenses for travel, or any other costs associated with competitions/exhibitions. e) Applicants must quantify the total number of agency clients, and clearly specify how many Pleasanton residents the proposed project will serve. f) Applicant agency must have a Pleasanton resident on its governing Board. g) Applicants who propose a project that identifies other agency collaboration(s) must submit a separate affidavit form completed by each supporting agency along with the application. (See page 9 of Application). h) Applicant agencies/organizations must comply with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, which bars discrimination based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, age, or disability. i) Applicant programs/services must be accessible to the public. j) Projects involving/requiring religious beliefs or activities are not eligible for funding. k) Applicant agencies must complete a mandatory presentation in a Public Hearing before the appropriate City Commission (Civic Arts, Human Services or Youth) in Apri12008.
