City of Pleasanton <br />City Grant <br />Fisca/ Year 2008/09 <br />Requirements and limitations <br />a) Applicants must have nonprofit <br />status and a 501(c)3 State <br />identification number, and a current <br />City Business License. <br />b) Applicants must be a community- <br />based organization promoting and <br />providing direct services to residents <br />in the City in the arts, youth, or <br />human services areas. <br />c) Applicants who represent funding <br />foundations or other funding <br />agencies are only eligible for <br />projects that provide a specified <br />direct service to clients/participants <br />only. Funds cannot be used as <br />pass-through dollars for <br />scholarships or agency <br />administration services. <br />d) Funds cannot be used to reimburse <br />expenses for travel, or any other <br />costs associated with <br />competitions/exhibitions. <br />e) Applicants must quantify the total <br />number of agency clients, and clearly <br />specify how many Pleasanton <br />residents the proposed project will <br />serve. <br />f) Applicant agency must have a <br />Pleasanton resident on its governing <br />Board. <br />g) Applicants who propose a project <br />that identifies other agency <br />collaboration(s) must submit a <br />separate affidavit form completed by <br />each supporting agency along with <br />the application. (See page 9 of <br />Application). <br />h) Applicant agencies/organizations <br />must comply with the Civil Rights <br />Act of 1964, the Rehabilitation Act <br />of 1973 as amended, and the Age <br />Discrimination Act of 1975, which <br />bars discrimination based on race, <br />color, national or ethnic origin, <br />gender, age, or disability. <br />i) Applicant programs/services must be <br />accessible to the public. <br />j) Projects involving/requiring religious <br />beliefs or activities are not eligible <br />for funding. <br />k) Applicant agencies must complete a <br />mandatory presentation in a Public <br />Hearing before the appropriate City <br />Commission (Civic Arts, Human <br />Services or Youth) in Apri12008. <br />(See page IV). <br />1) City Grant funds cannot be used to <br />supplant other contract funds or <br />grant awards. <br />iv <br />
