Assessment of Agenda Items Progress at Planning Commission Meetings Commissioner Blank noted another item on the memo regarding assessing the progress of the Commission’s review of projects at 10:30 p.m. instead of at 11:00 p.m. He noted that this is in conflict with the Commissioners Handbook and if this would then need to be agendized. Ms. Harryman advised that the Handbook says “by 11:00 p.m.” Ms. Decker stated that staff is looking for a way for the Commission to determine before 11:00 p.m. whether to continue an item under discussion or whether to consider another one. She noted that if the Commission can evaluate where it stands on the agenda by 10:30 p.m. versus 11:00 p.m., it would have more time and flexibility to structure what its tasks are for the evening. Commissioner Blank proposed that if the Commission followed the guidelines and suggestions in the Commisisoners Handbook and stick with them, it would be more efficient and better-served. Chairperson Fox suggested a checkpoint at 9:00 p.m. before the taking a break, during which the Commission can assess its position and discuss where it is and what to do with the next items so that people in the audience will not have to sit and wait until late to know whether their item will be considered that evening or continued.
