Chairperson Fox recalled that the previous General Plan stated that amenities would be
required for units built above the midpoint density. Ms. Stern indicated that this was in
the Background section and has been moved to Policy 8.

Chairperson Fox inquired what “200-percent FAR” implies. Ms. Stern replied that it
reflects very dense developments such as that proposed in the West BART station where
350 units will be built on an approximately seven-acre parcel. She noted that this project
would be somewhere around 150 percent; 200 percent would be the top end.

Page 2-15

Chairperson Fox inquired what group quarters are. Ms. Stern replied that Pleasanton is not bound by the ECAP policies.

Page 2-19

Chairperson Fox
?

Correct the spelling of “Merrit” on the first line to “Merritt.)

Page 2-20

Commissioner Narum noted the inconsistency between the text and Policy 13 regarding
the location of mixed-use development in areas served by public transit. She would like
the text and policy to be consistent and stated her preference for its location by a public
transportation. Ms. Stern stated that the other area where mixed-use development might
be considered is the Downtown but it is not labeled thus as the Downtown Specific Plan
encourages mix use.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES July 25, 2007 Page 19 of 35
