6. Plant and Animal Impacts
(effect on existing ecosystem, rare or endangered
species, etc.)

Existing flora and fauna is to be retained.
Improvements to the staging area will result in picnic
facilities for day use. Proposed campsites and
definition of trail areas will be situated in areas
where such uses have been previously defined or where
minimal improvements will be required to establish such
facilities. Interpretive signs will provide information
on plant species located within the park. Continued
restrictions to vehicle uses beyond the staging area
will assist in the maintenance of wildlife habits within
the park.

May be Insignificant Insignificant
Significant if Mitigated

7. Transportation/Circulation Impacts
(additional traffic, congestion, parking, hazards, etc.)

Access to the park is currently provided via adjacent
properties from Foothill Road and Longview Drive, both
public streets. Vehicular access from Foothill Road
will continue to be provided over existing private roads
through the adjacent Castlewood Country Club properties.
Access from Longview Drive will continue to be limited
to a pedestrian trail due to steep topography. Project
implementation will result in a fifty-space parking and
bus passenger drop-off areas in the existing staging
area. Vehicular access within the park will continue to
be prohibited except to emergency vehicle access.
Existing trails will be retained and upgraded to permit
hiking and equestrian activities.

May be .~' Insignificant Insignificant
Significant if Mitigated

8. Noise Impacts
(increases, exposure to high levels)

Noise generated on-site would be typical of that
associated with park areas. Hiking, equestrian,
picnicing and camping activities will be the predominant
on-site uses. Vehicular usage, model airplane uses, and
other similar activities will be prohibited on park
grounds.

May be Insignificant Insignificant
Significant if Mitigated

- 4 -
