Page 2

SCOPE OF WORK

The following tasks have been identified as the required components of
the proposed study.

1. Noise Measurements

To determine existing noise levels along the roadway, we will
perform four 24-hour noise measurements at various locations along
the roadway. These measurements will be made at representative
backyard elevations of homes along the roadway. Additionally, we
will perform 15-minute spot measurements as necessary to quantify
the noise level along the remaining segments of the roadway.

These 15-minute spot measurements will be correlated with the
24-hour measurements so that the existing day/night level (Ldn)
can be assessed along the entire length of the roadway.

2. ~nalVZe Pas~ Existinq, and Future Noise L.evels

Based on past traffic information supplied by the City, we will
determine the noise levels along Foothill Road subsequent to the
completion of the West Las Positas overcrossing. Based on
existing and future traffic volume data, we will estimate future
noise levels along the roadway. The future noise projections will
be based on 5, 10, and 20-year projections.
