City ofFPF as
el anton

REPO!I

December 1, 1987
Planning Department

SUBJECT: Modification to Housing and Community
Development (HCD) Program Funding for Fiscal
Year 1987-88

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that your Council:

1) Adopt a resolution approving the reallocation
of approximately $74,000 in HCD funds to the
budget for the Kottinger Place senior housing
improvements project for fiscal years 1986-87
($25,000) and 1987-88 ($49,000); and

2) Direct staff to reprogram the above noted HCD
funds through Alameda County Housing and
Community Development.

SUMMARY: Valley Community Health Center was allocated a
significant amount of HCD funds in each of the
three years of the current 1985-88 HCD funding
cycle. Because the project was completed in
the first two years, the approximately $66,000
allocated for 1986-87 and 1987-88 remains
unused. In addition, the City received a
refund of $7,797 following the sale of the
Alameda County Association for the Mentally
Retarded (ARC) workshop property in Livermore,
which was originally purchased with partial
HCD funding from Pleasanton. Staff recommends
that the unused funds be applied to the
existing 1986-87 and 1987-88 HCD budgets for
Kottinger Place to enable the completion of
several major improvement projects.

SR:87:525
