RESOLUTION NO. 12-556 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, APPROVING A LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT AND AMENDMENT NUMBER 2 TO THE FREEWAY MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH CALTRANS FOR FUTURE I-580/FOOTHILL ROAD INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT'S WHEREAS, in October 1978 the City and Caltrans entered into a Freeway Maintenance Agreement for the maintenance of 1-580 and the connecting roadways; and WHEREAS, the agreement was amended in July 2003 allowing the City of Dublin to reconstruct the north side of the interchange at San Ramon Road; and WHEREAS, a Landscape Maintenance Agreement was executed in spring 1999 for interchange landscape maintenance on the south side of the 1-580 eastbound off-ramp; and WHEREAS, the I-580/Foothill Road interchange project is designed to improve interchange operations and safety, provide improved access for pedestrians and bicyclists, and relieve traffic weaving concerns at the intersection of Foothill Road and Canyon Way/Dublin Canyon Road; and WHEREAS, Caltrans requires an amendment to the existing Freeway Maintenance agreement and a new Landscape Maintenance agreement to reflect the future interchange improvements. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The Landscape Maintenance Agreement for future 1-580/Foothill Road Interchange Improvements is hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute the agreement. SECTION 2. Amendment No. 2 to the Freeway Maintenance Agreement for future I- 580/Foothill Road Interchange Improvements is hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute the agreement.
