4) Sixteen (16) through seventeen years of continuous <br /> service - 11 shifts. <br /> <br /> 5) Eighteen (18) years and over - 12 shifts. <br /> <br /> Management and confidential employees, except a <br /> probationary employee, may be allowed to incur a forty <br /> (40) hour deficit beyond the vacation leave credited to <br /> his/her account on his/her anniversary date. A <br /> probationary employee may incur a forty (40) hour <br /> deficit in vacation after six (6) months full time <br /> satisfactory service. Fire battalion chiefs may incur a <br /> fifty-six hour defioit. <br /> <br /> 6.4(2) Vacation Accumulation <br /> <br /> The maximum vacation hours management or confidential <br /> employees may accumulate by their anniversary date shall <br /> not exceed twice their annual vacation entitlement. If <br /> employment circumstances are such that an employee is <br /> not permitted to take all or a portion of his/her <br /> vacation, the employee may request permission to carry <br /> over said unused vacation to the next year. <br /> <br /> 6.4(3) Vacation Schedule <br /> <br /> The times during a calendar year at which an employee <br /> may take his/her vacation shall be determined by the <br /> department director with due regard for the wishes of <br /> the employee and particular regard for the needs of the <br /> service. <br /> <br /> 6.4(4) Vacation Pay at Termination <br /> <br /> Management and confidential employees shall be paid for <br /> all accrued vacation leave earned prior to the effective <br /> date of termination. Such'compensation for earned <br /> vacation shall be paid to the employee in one lump sum <br /> in a final check. <br /> <br />Section 6.5 Sick Leave <br /> 6.5(1) Sick Leave Accrual <br /> <br /> Management and confidential employees, except fire <br /> battalion chiefs, shall during their first year of <br /> employment shall earn sick leave at the rate of eight <br /> (8.0) hours for each month of service. On his/her first <br /> anniversary each new employee shall receive <br /> three-hundred eighty-four (384.0) hours sick leave in <br /> addition to that earned during probation. Upon <br /> completion of five (5) years service, every employee <br /> shall thereafter accumulate sick leave at a rate of <br /> eight (8.0) hours per month. No employee shall <br /> accumulate more than one-thousand four-hundred forty <br /> (1,440.0) hours of sick leave. An employee may be <br /> <br /> - 8 - <br /> <br /> <br />
