PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-88-87
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-88-27, APPLICATION OF
PACIFIC COAST MINISTRIES
WHEREAS, Pacific Coast Ministries has applied for conditional
use permit approval to operate a church within an
existing light industrial/warehouse building located at
7116 Johnson Drive; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is I-G 40,000 (General
Industrial) District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of August l0,
1988, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the
City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.
The subject site is located in the I-G (General
Industrial) District. One purpose of the i-G
District is to provide locations where industries
that are incompatible with most other land uses can
operate with minimum restrictions and without
adverse effects on other uses. As conditioned, the
church will not interfere with the surrounding
industrial uses or the purpose of this district.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
As conditioned the non-industrial church use will
not have an adverse effect on any surrounding
properties. The hours of operation are primarily
during non-business hours, there are no
environmental concerns, and if the parking
requirement is met, there will be no competition
for limited parking resources among adjacent
users.
