PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-88-99
RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR
CORWOOD CARWASH AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-88-43
WHEREAS, Woodward Industries, inc. has applied for a conditional
use permit to operate an automobile washing facility and
service station on an approximately 1.25 acre site at
the southeast corner of the intersection of California
Avenue and Washington Street; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit
Development) - Commercial District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of September 14,
1988, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the
City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the Zoning
Ordinance and the purpose of the Commercial
District.
The Ordinance Code states that the purpose of the
CS zoning district is to provide areas for
commercial uses that are incompatible with the
purposes of other commercial districts, and areas
for commercial uses that attract little or no
pedestrian traffic. The site is separated from any
residentially-zoned property by at least 1,000 ft.
Other surrounding uses are of a similar, auto-
related nature. Staff feels that the proposed
conditional uses reflect the purpose of the CS
district and would be compatible with the existing
uses now within the Stanley Business Park.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
