PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-88-125
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-88-57, THE APPLICATION OF
CHARLES AND ROSE MCCRACKEN FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
TO OPERATE A RECREATIONAL FACILITY (INDOOR BATTING
RANGE)
WHEREAS, Charles and Rose McCracken have applied for a
conditional use permit to operate a recreational
facility (indoor batting range) in conjunction with a
proposed wholesale business establishment (silk
screening and embroidery) to be located 7039 Commerce
Circle; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is I-G (General Industrial)
District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of November 22,
1988, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the
City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
a) That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the chapter
of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the
district in which the site is located.
The use is consistent with the purposes of the I-G
(General Industrial) zoning district which is to
provide locations where industries or other large
scale uses that are not compatible with most uses
can operate without adverse effects. The proposed
use requires a large warehouse type space in order
to operate. There is good separation between
buildings, adequate on site parking and non-
conflicting hours of operation so the proposed use
should not interfere with surrounding uses.
b) That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or be materially
injurious to the properties or improvements in the
vicinity.
Both access and parking are sufficient to
accommodate the use. The facility, as conditioned
by staff, would not have any adverse effects on
