REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA Michael O’Callaghan and Peter MacDonald, the original requesters of Item 6.b., were in the audience and inquired whether their item could be heard before Item 6.a. Chairperson Fox inquired whether Item 6.b., PRZ-37, Schools, Tutoring, and Recreation Facilities Code Amendment could be heard before Item 6.a., General Plan Update – Draft Subregional Planning Element, because of the expected length of Item 6.a. Ms. Decker advised that a policy has been set that General Plan Update items would always be first on the agenda, and in view of this, several speakers for Item 6.b. were still en route to the meeting with the expectation that their item would be heard after Item 6.a. 5. CONSENT CALENDAR There were none. 6.PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS a. General Plan Draft Subregional Planning Element Review and Consideration of the Draft Subregional Planning Element of the General Plan. Ms. Stern presented the staff report and described the proposed changes in the background text of the Draft Subregional Planning Element of the General Plan. The Subregional Element is an optional element whose purpose is to facilitate Pleasanton’s involvement with planning in the Tri-Valley. It was first prepared in 1996 as part of “Subregional Planning Strategy,” grant-funded by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) as a separate document in a joint effort by seven Tri-Valley jurisdictions: Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, Danville, San Ramon, and Alameda and PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES March 14, 2007 Page 3 of 21
