ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Commissioners Blank, Fox, O’Connor, Olson, and Pearce. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />RECUSED: None. <br />ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />The motion passed. <br /> <br /> <br />The minutes were approved as amended. <br /> <br /> <br />7.MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Natural Lighting <br /> <br />Commissioner Blank requested follow-up for natural light sources to look at color and <br />materials boards and samples. <br /> <br />Podcast of Hearings <br /> <br />Commissioner Blank requested follow-up on the podcast idea to simplify the ability for <br />the Commissioners to verify the meeting audio without traveling to City Hall and to add <br />transparency for the public by allowing them to hear the audio as well. He noted that <br />technologically, it was fairly simple to accomplish. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson agreed that it was a good idea and noted that he would pursue that issue. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Priorities <br /> <br />Chairperson Fox requested a session to discuss miscellaneous ideas for the Planning <br />Commission and to rank-order them. <br /> <br />Commissioner Blank noted that he had been told that staff could do no work unless it was <br />authorized by the City Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson wished to clarify that Commissioner Blank referred to major projects <br />regarding staff work. He noted that items such as the sprinklers ordinance was more <br />involved with respect to community participation and review. <br /> <br />Chairperson Fox believed prioritizing items would prioritize the level of effort and that <br />some items requiring staff work did not come from the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson noted that policies also came from General Plans and Specific Plans that have <br />work programs and policies that must be addressed by staff and that staff must work <br />those items into the schedule as well. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES January 10, 2007 Page 24 of 27 <br /> <br /> <br />
