8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION

a. Future Planning Calendar

Chairperson Fox noted that Ms. Decker had sent an email informing the Commission that the
hearing for the Oak Grove development may not be held on March 14, 2007, as originally
th
scheduled. Ms. Decker stated that the hearing is still scheduled for March 14 but that staff is
still working with the applicant on the last remaining issues that need resolution prior to its
coming before the Planning Commission. She advised that there were other items on the
th
March 14 agenda in case Oak Grove is continued, and if Oak Grove proceeds as scheduled,
those other items would be continued to a future Commission meeting.

Chairperson Fox commented that the Commission may need an entire meeting for the Oak Grove
project and that it may even carry over to a second or third meeting. She then inquired about the
status of Barnabas Nagy’ application for a restaurant by Ruby Hill. Ms. Decker replied that staff
is working with the homeowners association and the applicant, who is completing some revisions
to the plans. She advised that the matter is anticipated to come before the Commission in late
March or early April.

Commissioner Fox inquired when the Council would hear the appeal for the Trinity Lutheran
Church application. Ms. Decker replied that it was scheduled for the March 20, 2007 meeting.

Commissioner Pearce commented that she would like to have the dates put back on the Future
Planning calendar items. Some of the other Commissioners expressed the same desire.
Ms. Decker stated that staff would look into that.

Commissioner O’Connor noted that a Joint City Council-Planning Commission General Plan
Workshop has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, 2007.

b.Actions of the City Council

Home Depot Project

Chairperson Fox inquired why the Home Depot application was continued. Commission Olson
noted that based on the City Manager’s newsletter, the project was delayed to await the results of
the traffic study on the Stoneridge Drive extension. Ms. Decker confirmed Commissioner
Olson’s statement and stated that additional analysis was ongoing through the General Plan
Update process and that the Home Depot project would be incorporated into that process.

Planning Commission Appointment

Commissioner Pearce noted that the action on the new Planning Commissioner’s appointment
should read “The City Council ratified the Mayor’s appointment of Kathy Narum as a regular
member of the Planning Commission” rather than “The Mayor appointed Kathy Narum as a
regular member of the Planning Commission.”

PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES February 28, 2007 Page 12 of 13
