Councilmember Sullivan with respect to the 45 projects clarified that they will be <br />prioritized during the next phase in June. During that timeframe, input will be solicited <br />from the public, stakeholders and potential partners. He noted there are a lot of water <br />issues, i.e. water supply, flood control, and wastewater treatment and disposal. He <br />added over time water will continue to be a major area of concern for municipalities and <br />governments. He commented on meetings held with the various stakeholders and the <br />idea of Watershed Councils. He questioned Zone 7's interest in participating in <br />something like this. <br />Ms. Duerg indicated they are very interested in working with Pleasanton on those <br />issues. <br />Councilmember McGovern commented on the chain of lakes in the plan and asked what <br />kind of timeline they have for that portion of the plan. They responded once the <br />decisions have been made as to where the flood control needs are, they will be able to <br />move forward with the Chain of Lakes Master Plan. <br />Ms. Duerig noted the only reason the Chain of Lakes Master Plan was put on hold was <br />because they felt like it was such an important component that it should be dealt with <br />apart from the SMMP process. She noted they would like to see an integration of public <br />use and multi-use trails. It has always been envisioned that recreation would be a <br />component of the Chain of Lakes Master Plan. <br />Discussion ensued regarding Arroyos and gentle meandering and whether or not <br />trenching would be considered. <br />The Mayor thanked Zone 7 for the presentation <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL: None <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />19.
