MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />Special City Council Meeting <br />January 30, 2007 <br />CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hosterman called the Special Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 10:39 p.m. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />3. PUBLIC COMMENT -None <br />4. COUNCIL DIRECTION REGARDING THE PRELIMINARY TRAFFIC MODELING <br />Mayor Hosterman called for a motion regarding the topics discussed in the workshop. <br />It was m/s by Sullivan/Cook-Kallio to adopt a policy supporting constrained gateways in <br />the General Plan. <br />An amendment was requested by Councilmember McGovern to include acase-by-case <br />review to try to preserve trees and landscaping. Councilmember Sullivan agreed to the <br />amendment. Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />It was m/s by Thorne/Cook-Kallio, to model the Stoneridge Drive extension before <br />requesting the Environmental Impact Report. Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />It was m/s by Sullivan/Thorne to model the transit oriented development (TOD) land use <br />option and the hybrid land use option as defined in Attachment 2. Motion passed by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: Councilmember McGovern <br />Absent: None <br />5. CONSIDER THE DRAFT COMMUNITY CHARACTER ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL <br />PLAN <br />Janice Stern, Current Planner, presented the staff report. <br />
