18. Presentation of Proclamation "Wear Red for Woman Day" for the American Heart <br />Association <br />Councilmember McGovern presented the proclamation to Cindy Nunan, Valley <br />Care Health System and East Bay Board Member of the American Heart <br />Association and Elizabeth White, Corporate Event Director for the American Heart <br />Association. <br />19. Newcott-Caldebury Award Recognition <br />Julie Farnsworth, Director of Library Services, presented awards to the winners of <br />the Newcott-Caldebury Awards. Sandy Silva, Children's Librarian, introduced the <br />award winners. <br />20. Presentation by Centex Homes regarding Energy Efficiency <br />Bill Kelly of Power Light and Heather Curry of Centex Homes gave a presentation <br />regarding energy efficiency. <br />21. Public Comment <br />Carol and George Withers addressed the City Council regarding the completion of <br />Stoneridge Drive to EI Charro Drive. They urged the Council to keep the extension <br />in the Council's priorities and presented a petition with approximately 300 <br />signatures in support of a city-wide election to decide the fate of the Stoneridge <br />Drive extension. <br />Jerry Wagner referenced the Pleasanton Mobile Home Park and issues pending. <br />He indicated he has repeatedly asked for a letter to what conclusion was reached <br />on park issues on December 5th but have not received any communication in the <br />last six weeks. He commented on issues regarding sewer fees and voiced <br />concern with the city's lack of response. He noted that he did receive a faxed letter <br />this afternoon stating he had been "denied his claim for damages and that the city <br />(1) chose not to initiate any changes in the municipal code which would release <br />you from liability for future sewer charges on unoccupied dwelling units at the <br />mobilehome park; and (2) chose not to extend the terms and conditions of your <br />settlement statement." <br />Fred Norman addressed the City Council regarding his request for a moment of <br />silence on the agenda for people serving in Iraq. <br />John Butera addressed the City Council regarding his opposition to the Stoneridge <br />Drive extension. <br />City Council Minutes 4 January 16, 2007 <br />
