<br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 5, 2006 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with Council member Brozosky <br />leading the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmembers Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />2. SPECIAL ITEMS <br /> <br />2a. Adopt a Resolution reciting the fact of the General Municipal Election held on <br />November 7, 2006, declaring the result and such other matters as provided by law (SR <br />06:273) <br /> <br />City Clerk Karen Diaz reported the election results noting that Jennifer Hosterman was <br />elected Mayor, Cheryl Cook-Kallio and Jerry Throne were elected to the Council and <br />that Measure P passed. She recommended that Council approve the proposed <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Motion: It was m/s by Sullivan/Thorne to adopt Resolution No. 06-074 reciting the fact <br />of the General Municipal Election held on November 7, 2006, declaring the result and <br />such other matters as provided by law. Motion passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />2b. Remarks by outgoing Councilmember Brozosky <br /> <br />Councilmember Brozosky commented on his campaign and thanked those that worked <br />on his campaign with him. He noted the campaign was very tight and thanked the <br />people of Pleasanton and praised the percentage of voter turnout. He highlighted his <br />significant accomplishment noting that during his four years in office, he put in about <br />10,000 hours of community service. <br /> <br />He ended by stating the best part of serving this community are the friends that you <br />make, which has been his greatest reward. He does look forward to getting back to <br />his private life, family and business, and will continue to have a passion for <br />volunteerism. <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman presented a Commendation to outgoing Councilmember Steve <br />Brozosky. <br />
