The roll call vote was taken as follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne and Mayor Hosterman NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAINED: None 6c ADDroval of Annual Action Plan for the Use of Federal Community DeveloDment Block Grant (CDBG) Funds for Fiscal Year 2006 (2006-07\ (SR 06:111) Steve Bocian, Assistant City Manager, presented the staff report. Ms. McGovern indicated emails received from elected federal officials including Diane Fienstein having advised the City of the possibility of losing federal CDBG funds. She asked whether the City had already received the funding for this year? Mr. Bocian responded this is the funding for the upcoming year. Ms. Hosterman stated the US conference of Mayors has been extremely active in making this issue a high priority. A letter has been sent in support, Ms. McGovern questioned the statement that the Bernal Property will provide opportunities for new housing developments should future conditions and community needs warrant was true. Mr. Fialho responded staff needed to clarify the statement. Mr. Thorne stated that the staff report indicated the City is carrying forward the previous years priorities, which were approved, as well as excerpts from the General Plan Housing Element. The report also indicates the City received certification in 2003 but does not indicate the City was ever decertified. He questioned whether the de-certification of the Housing Element has any impact on the City's ability to receive the funds. Pleasanton City Council Minutes 15 04/18/06
