CONTRACT FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 15th~ day of <br />September, 1987, by and between the CITY OF PLEASANTON, a <br />municipal corporation (hereinafter referred to as City), and <br />J. JACK BRAS & ASSOCIATES (hereinafter referred to as <br />Consultant). <br /> <br /> W I T N E S S E T H: <br /> <br /> A. Consultant is qualified to provide, and experienced in <br />providing construction management services, and has offered its <br />services for the purposes specified in this Agreement. <br /> <br /> B. In the judgment of the City, it is necessary and <br />advisable to employ the services of Consultant for the purpose of <br />construction mal~agement of the Fire Training Center. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants, <br />agreements and conditions contained herein, City and Consultant <br />agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Consultant's Services. Consultant shall diligently <br />perform the services as hereinafter set forth. <br /> <br /> A. Site Visits. Consultant shall visit the job site <br />twice daily (early morning and late afternoon). Consultant shall <br />meet daily at a specified time with the job superintendent <br />spending, in general, a minimum of one hour at the job site <br />reviewing work being done, answering any questions, and resolving <br />problems that may have arisen. The second trip will be spent <br />reviewing progress, questions, etc. that may have developed <br />during the day. Time spent at the job site will be an average of <br />one hour or mole, depending on the daily job situation and the <br />importance of work being accomplished. Toward the end of work, <br />it may be possible to reduce the trips to one per day due to job <br />circumstances. In general, Hugh Anton will perform this <br />assignment with J. Jack Bras filling in as backup. <br /> <br /> In addition, Consultant shall maintain a daily job <br />log in order to keep an accurate track of the job's progress, <br />noting work accomplished, problems, actions taken, and solutions <br />proposed. This log will be summarized weekly in report form and <br />submitted to the City for review. <br /> <br /> Consultant shall be on call to answer any questions <br />or to go out to the job site as requested by the job <br />superintendent. This will be for the purpose of resolving <br />problems immediately so that the job may be kept on schedule. <br /> <br /> B. Change Orders and Proqress Payments. Preparation and <br />checking of change orders, receiving cost proposals and progress <br />payment submittals will be performed by Consultant. <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
