<br />Jerry Wagner, a Happy Valley resident, shared his response to the Alameda County <br />Board of Supervisors regarding the temporary closure of through traffic on Happy Valley Road <br />at Alisal Street. <br /> <br />Charlie Peters addressed Council regarding Clean Air Performance and the Governor's <br />request for a waiver of the federal Clean Air Act's two percent oxygenate requirement for <br />California. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS & OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />6a <br />ADDroval of recommendations for use of Citizens' ODtion for Public Safety Proaram <br />(COPS) vear 10 aDDroDriation. (SR 06:050) <br /> <br />Tim Neal, Police Chief, presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman declared the public hearing open. There being no public comments, <br />the public hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Ms. McGovern, to adopt Resolution <br />06-009, a resolution approving expenditures from the State of California COPS Program <br />funds. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and Mayor <br />Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED: None <br /> <br />6b <br />Discussion reGardinG studv on tennis courts and aDDroval to install Iiahtina and make <br />General imDrovements to the tennis courts at Pleasanton Middle School. (SR 06:054) <br /> <br />Jim Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services, presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky referred to the survey and pointed out there were 110 occasions when <br />someone was unable to access a tennis court and out of those 110 occasions, there were 47 <br />occasions where players were able to obtain a tennis court within the period of 30 minutes. He <br />believed 43 percent of players were impacted by a 30-minute delay. <br /> <br />Dana Gill, Lifetime Tennis, pointed out two of the tennis courts at the Tennis Park are <br />available for walk-ons only and not available on a reservation basis. He verified that the majority <br />of players stayed and gained access to a tennis court within a 30-minute timeframe, which is <br />quicker than leaving and finding another location. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council <br />Minutes <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />02/07/06 <br />
