In response to an inquiry by Ms. McGovern, Mr. McMorrow said the Developer would be
open to considering this matter. He believed staff was fundamentally correct in stating that by
removing this section it would not assure that price for the Affordable By Design Units would be
any less.

Mr. Sullivan said the way in which the price for the Affordable By Design Units is being
achieved is by the smallness of the unit and not the appliances that are installed in these units.

Mr. Brozosky asked if the Developer had the ability to offer options for the exterior and
interior finishes?

Mr. McMorrow said it is too confusing for the sales representatives and potential
applicants. He said he was comfortable with this restriction.

Mr. Brozosky withdrew his motion.

Mr. Sullivan believed that a loss of employment for the purchaser should be a legitimate
hardship exemption.

Mr. Bocian said this exemption is included in Section 2F of the Agreement.

Mr. Sullivan asked if this Agreement was similar in process to the Affordable Housing
Agreement for the Bernal property?

Mr. Bocian said yes.

It was moved by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mr. Thorne, to approve the Affordable
Housing Agreement (Attachment B to the staff report) with SilverStone Communities and
to direct the Housing Commission to reexamine the preference system to include the
possibility of allowing a preference for applicants raised in the community wanting to
return to Pleasanton.

The roll call vote was taken as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and
Mayor Hosterman
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAINED: None

6b
Review of the fundina Dlan for five City Council Driority facility/Dark Droiects.
