<br />MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />MEETING <br />OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />November 15, 2005 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />Conference with legal counsel concerning pending litigation, Amirzada v. City of <br />Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Conference with legal counsel concerning pending litigation against the State <br />Department of Transportation concerning its certification of a Negative Declaration for the <br />northbound 1-680 HOV lane in the Pleasanton area. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:07 p.m. <br />Councilmember McGovern led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br />Ms. McGovern pointed out that this month's Community Character trait is compassion <br />and the community has the opportunity to show compassion by donating healthy non-perishable <br />foods during the Thanksgiving holiday at local Safeway and Albertson's grocery stores. This <br />Thanksgiving, the Open Heart Kitchen will be celebrating its 23rd annual Community <br />Thanksgiving Dinner at the Robert Livermore Community Center between 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. <br />During the holiday season many activities are planned which include: a Downtown Magical <br />evening hosted by the Pleasanton Downtown Association on Friday, November 18 from 5 p.m. <br />to 8 p.m.; Annual Hometown Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting to be held at dusk on Saturday, <br />December 3; Holiday in the Vineyard Celebration to be held on Saturday and Sunday December <br />3 and 4 at the local wineries in Livermore Valley; and the presentation of the "Velveteen Rabbit" <br />to be featured at the Amador Theater on Saturday and Sunday, December 17 and 18. She <br />invited the community to attend a joint workshop of the City Council and Planning Commission <br />to discuss Citywide land uses as part of the General Plan Update process to be held on <br />Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. She informed the community the City is 20,000 ahead of <br />projections for the Callippe Preserve Golf Course and over November 12-14, the average <br />rounds were 250 people per day. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council <br />Minutes <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />11/15/05 <br />
