David Ham, a Pleasanton resident, addressed Council regarding the City's adoption of
the "America Supporting Americans' unit program. Mr. Ham indicated that the time has come
for the City to adopt Charlie Company 526 of the Second Brigade Combat Team 1018' Airborne
Assault Division since this unit is deploying within the next week to the Middle East. What Mr.
Ham had hoped to gain from this is having this program adopted officially to create a further
adoption program and have each individual solider be adopted by different units and citizens.
He invited the community to the Veterans Day Parade on November S in which the theme of the
parade would be the "One-Wing Angels."

Jerry Wagner, an Alisal Street resident, addressed Council regarding the golf course, the
bypass road and the Happy Valley resident's water.

There were no other speakers.

6. The recommendation is also that the City does this
without processing the pre-application or for the Pleasanton Manor.

Mr. Brozosky inquired about the current rents at Pleasanton Manor.

Mr. Bocian said he was not sure but believed Pleasanton Manor was one of the more
affordable units in town.

Mr. Brozosky requested information on what a housing price would have to be to have
an equivalent monthly payment to rent now for a comparison.

Ms. McGovern indicated the last paragraph on page 6 of the report showed the rent
amounts for Pleasanton Manor, which is an average of $903.00 for a one-bedroom unit.

Mr. Brozosky inquired about the interest rates of $102,000 to $162,000.

Mr. Bocian was unable to recall the exact interest rates the City used but it was a basic
formula that was used and most likely close to the current interest rate today.

Mr. Brozosky wondered if someone currently living in at Pleasanton Manor would be
subject to the same monthly payment as indicated. If this were true, the sales price of
condominiums would have to be in the range of $102,000 and $162,000 to have the same equal
payment it has today for rent.

Pleasanton City Council
Minutes

8

09/20/05
