<br />Mr. Fialho reminded Council that in August it authorized staff to submit a grant <br />application for Proposition 50 funds for the Kottinger Creek project because it met the criteria <br />established for Proposition 50. The deadline for submittal is October 18 and the City is well <br />within that deadline. The City should receive a determination from the State within a few <br />months indicating whether the City qualifies for grant funding for that project. <br /> <br />There were no public speakers on this item. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Thorne, seconded by Mr. Brozosky to authorize the City <br />Manager to execute the proposed Cooperative Funding Agreement, including the <br />allocation of $25,000 for the feasibility study. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers- Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and <br />Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED: None <br /> <br />Mr. Fialho referenced item 6g and stated the appellants and the applicants on this matter <br />had agreed to defer the discussion of this item until October 18. <br /> <br />With the consensus of Council, item 69 was removed and continued to October 18. <br /> <br />&c. ADDroval of the FY 2005-06 and FY 2006-07 ODeratina Budaets for CalliDDe Preserve <br />Golf Course and AdoDtion of Financial Policies (SR 05:255) <br /> <br />Mr. Fialho infonned Council the item before them would cover a status review of the <br />project. Staff is completing the final punch list and the dedication of the golf course is scheduled <br />for November 5th with a public opening scheduled for November 11. The presentation would <br />include a discussion on the budget; a detailed discussion regarding the performer; the golf <br />course rates, which are part of the staff report; and a short-term and long-term fiscal policy <br />governing the enterprise for the next several years. <br /> <br />Sue Rossi, Director of Finance, presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mr. Wolfe presented the report on the golf course. <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman thanked staff for completing a project that began as a golf course and <br />grew into an open space project. <br /> <br />Ms. McGovern recalled a question had been raised by a member of the public as to how <br />the City is watering the golf course and possibly using treated sewage or recycled water. She <br />asked if staff was using recycled water at this time? <br /> <br />Mr. Fialho said staff was not and is using the existing water supply of the City. <br /> <br />Ms. McGovern asked if the water supply being used was the same as drinking water? <br /> <br />Mr. Fialho said yes. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council <br />Minutes <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />09/20/05 <br />
