Mr. Inderbitzen said when Council authorized the EIR to proceed on this project, the EIR
schedule would have had the Lund Ranch II project completed and the draft available for
comment November 2004. She was proud of the City for taking on this project,
which reflected forward thinking on how to maintain an urban creek and bring it back to proper
function. This project leaves the City with an opportunity to leave an important legacy of its
values to future generations.
Pat Griffin, a Pleasanton resident, concurred with Ms. Puis's comments.
Richard Fredette, a Pleasanton resident and member of the Board of Directors of the
Pleasanton Museum, urged Council to make the Alviso Adobe Community Park project a
reasonable priority.
Heather Haugen Rizzoli, Education Director of the Museum on Main Street, supported
the restoration of the Alviso Adobe, which would restore local history to the community and
provide an educational opportunity for the children in this community.
Kevin Close, a Happy Valley resident, urged Council to make the Alviso Adobe
Community Park project a high priority. She expressed her concern about the bypass road not being
built and the safety impacts and quality of life issues. She was encouraged by actions staff and
Council are taking to find a solution. She commended Council for making the reorientation of
the driving range a high priority and concurred with the importance of the restoration of the
Alviso Adobe Community Park as a high priority.
Written communication was presented to Council from Jill Moore and Gary Nicolson,
Pleasanton residents, who encouraged Council to place the Kottinger Creek Restoration project
as a high priority.
There were no additional speakers.
3. Discussion and Review of Citv Council Priorities (SR 05:239)
Nelson Fialho, City Manager, provided a brief overview of the staff report. In addition, he
provided a definition of high priority projects, which receive three or more affirmative votes and
constitute the Council's work plan for the coming year. While there are additional priorities that
do not receive three required affirmative votes, they do not necessarily go away. The distinction
for those priorities that receive less than two votes is that Council will need to weigh in on these
issues throughout the year before any significant staff time or resources are dedicated to the
project.
City Council Priorities Workshop 5 08/23/05
Minutes
