There have been new groups that have requested <br />additional time and ongoing contracts with the City's co-sponsored groups with <br />incremential rates increased that have been renegotiated. Staff is constantly working to <br />provide additional services and programs that the community is interested in at the <br />Aquatics Center. <br /> <br /> The meeting recessed at 7:4,5 p.m. <br /> <br /> The meeting reconvened at 7:58 p.m. <br /> <br /> Steve Bocian presented the report on the Capital Improvement Program <br />Budget. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman asked staff what they were looking for from Council at the <br />workshop. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho responded by asking Council to inform staff if they were on tract in <br />regard to the Council priorities. He asked if the projects Council is looking to <br />accomplish are at least fully funded, partially funded or if there was a plan towards <br />establishing some level of funding going forward. He said staff would return to Council <br />for with each project as they are refined and designed for consideration. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman acknowledged the new future Councilmember, Jerry Thorne, <br />in the audience and asked at what point is he given the opportunity to have some input. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho responded that staff anticipates having certified results in the next <br />several weeks in which the new Councilmember could be seated on June 21, which is <br />when this item would be presented to Council publicly at a regular meeting, and at that <br />point if there were any modifications to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), it could <br />be done at that time. Council would meet sometime in July to review all of its priorities <br />including projects that did not make it onto the highest priority list. This would allow the <br />new council member as well as the entire Council an opportunity to reconsider and <br />prioritize all of the projects. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman opened the meeting to the public. <br /> <br /> Connie Cox, President of the Valley Trails Homeowner's Association, addressed <br />the Council regarding the City's Park In Lieu money to purchase all or part of the <br />undeveloped Evangelical Free Church property on Valley Trails Drive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky questioned the size of the property. <br /> <br /> Ms. Cox responded that it was approximately nine acres. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brezosky asked if that site is a potential site for affordable housing? <br /> <br /> Ms. Cox responded by saying yes but the City would not rezone the property. <br /> The City has stated it is in need of institutional land and the Valley Trails Homeowners <br /> <br /> City Council Workshop <br /> 13 06/08/05 <br /> <br /> <br />
