Mr. Fialho asked Council if it generally supported the concept of an amphitheater in the <br />Option One proposal. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman supported the location of an amphitheater in the Option One proposal. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern was willing to retain the location of an amphitheater as depicted in Option <br />One as long as Council continues to discuss it and is provided a clear definition of an <br />amphitheater. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho pointed out that the Specific Plan would go through community discussion <br />and entail all of the possible uses for the site. He recognized some of the opposing viewpoints <br />as it pertained to the concept of an amphitheater; however, staff needed general direction in <br />terms of the concept of an amphitheater as presented by Mr. Fotheringham to include a bowl <br />effect, minimal noise and minimal lighting structures. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Mr. Sullivan, to support the concept <br />of an amphitheater in its current location as depicted in Option One to include bowl <br />effect, minimal noise and lighting structures and to ensure the design reflects the <br />proximity to the neighborhood, and to include the neighborhood in the Specific Plan <br />process. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and <br /> Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho asked Council if it generally supported the concept of tennis courts on the <br />Bernal property. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mayor Hosterman, to generally support <br />the concept of tennis courts on the Bernal property as part of the evaluation. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and <br /> Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho asked Council if generally supported the concept of water elements on the <br /> Bernal property as described by Mr. Brozosky. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Mayor Hosterman, to generally <br /> support the concept of water elements on the Bernal property. <br /> <br /> In response to an inquiry by Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Fialho said an example of general water <br /> features would be fountains that support a wet environment. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky noted that water is currently on the Bernal property and not available <br /> during the summer season.
