MEETINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Commended Safety Valet Patrol Members - Exceptional Service Awards. <br /> <br /> Vice-Mayor Brozosky presented a commendation to outgoing Poet Laureate Kirk <br />Ridgeway. Mr. Ridgeway closed out his tenure as Poet Laureate by presenting a poem entitled <br />"Building Community." <br /> <br /> Vice-Mayor Brozosky introduced Cynthia Bryant, Pleasanton Poet Laureate for 2005- <br /> 2007. Ms. Bryant presented a poem entitled "Awaiting the Town Crier." <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman presented Certificates of Appreciation to commissioners leaving <br /> office: Gary Schwaegerle, Housing Commission; Jamie Tucker, Human Services Commission; <br /> Terry Roberts, Library Commission; Jerry Thorne, Parks & Recreation Commission; Michael <br /> Johnson, Elisse LaBarre, Caitlin MacDonald, Lauren Russman, and Priya Shankar, Youth <br /> Commission; Linda Rhodes, Tri-Valley Community Television Board; and Jim Hawkins, Jim <br /> Isaac and Mark Wooldridge, Economic Vitality Committee. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk administered the oath of office to newly appointed Commission and <br /> Committee members: Margene Gerton Rivara, Civic Arts Commission; Christopher Grant <br /> (Biomedical Representative) and Arne Olson (Financial Institution Representative), Economic <br /> Vitality Committee; Rex Whisnand and Amy Hodgett, Housing Commission; Kellene Cousins, <br /> Human Services Commission; Laura Danielson, Chris Bourg and Judith Matthew, Library <br /> Commission; Kurt Kummer and Teddy Kinzer, Parks & Recreation Commission; Philip Blank <br /> and Jennifer Pearce, Planning Commission; Jackie Bierre, Spencer Sussman, Sonia Talafi, <br /> Alex Schlick, Chris Bowman, Scott Tucker, Cad Schlachte, and Udani Kadurugamuwa, Youth <br /> Commission; Scot Giambruno, Tri-Vallley Community Television Board; and Marsha Jones, <br /> Altamont Education Account Advisory Board. <br /> <br /> Other Speakers <br /> <br /> Judith Geiselman, a Pleasanton resident, clarified and asked Council to consider <br /> amending the minutes of the City Council and Planning Commission joint workshop of May 24, <br /> 2005 as presented in her written communication to Council <br /> <br /> Staff indicated that amendments to the joint workshop meeting minutes of May 24, 2005 <br /> would be made. <br /> <br /> Jane Broderson, a Pleasanton resident, addressed Council regarding the ongoing <br /> problems of the California Tiger Salamander as an endangered species in Pleasanton, <br /> particularly as it pertained to the Kottinger Hills project. <br /> <br /> Jon R.
