SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 12, 2005 <br /> <br /> 1. Call to Order <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman called the special meeting of the Pleasanton City <br /> Council to order at 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the mil, which is recorded as follows: <br /> Council Members present were Steve Brozosky, Cindy McGovern, Matt Sullivan <br /> and Mayor Jennifer Hosterman. Staff members present were Nelson Fialho, City <br /> Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Jerry Iserson, Planning Director; and <br /> Jim Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services. <br /> <br /> 2.Meetinq Open To The Public <br /> <br /> There were no speakers. <br /> <br />-- 3. Discussion and action on items conceminq input of City Commissions <br /> reqardinq the Bemal property. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Hosterman, seconded by Ms. McGovern, to <br /> eliminate Site Plan Alternatives B, C and E for the Bernal Phase II Specific <br /> Plan area from the process. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky did not support the motion. He wanted Council to look for a <br /> preferred solution to locate the Cultural Arts Center in the northeast comer of the <br /> Bernal property and not eliminate any of the site plan alternatives at this point. <br /> He did not support placing the Cultural Arts Center near the freeway. He wanted <br /> the Cultural Arts Center to be a part of the Park and not separated from the Park. <br /> He visioned the Cultural Arts Center being integrated with the Park where people <br /> could be at the sports fields and casually walk by the Cultural Arts Center. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern believed the direction Council would be taking was to <br /> select a preferred plan out of the five site plan alternatives for the Bemal Phase II <br /> Specific Plan and direct staff to prepare an alternative site plan that would locate <br /> the Cultural Arts Center in the northeast corner of the Bemal property. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman reiterated her motion, which was to eliminate Site Plan <br /> Alternatives B, C, and E. In addition, she wanted to entertain a motion to <br /> combine Site Plan Alternatives A and D, and the possibility of a motion to provide <br /> <br /> City Council <br /> Special Meeting 1 05/12/05 <br /> <br /> <br />
