MEETINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Commended winners of the Great Green Arts Contest. <br /> <br />Other Speakers <br /> <br /> Joe Ely, a Pleasanton resident, provided an update on the Livermore Airport issues. His <br /> update outlined the City of Livermore's plans to perform noise monitoring and various actions by <br /> the Livermore Airport Advisory Commission to request that Alameda County Airport Land Use <br /> Commission (ALUC) establish an Airport Influence Area (AIA), whose boundaries are consistent <br /> with the current General Referral Area in the ALUC Airport Land Use Plan. <br /> <br /> James Frost, a Pleasanton resident, addressed Council regarding the increased <br /> speeding problems on Sycamore Creek Way. He proposed that Bridle Creek Maintenance <br /> Association meet with staff to consider possible solutions to calm the traffic coming through on <br /> Sycamore Creek Way to avoid serious accidents in the future. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho directed Mr. Frost and any community member who has a concern regarding <br /> neighborhood traffic issues to the Traffic Committee. This Committee is an in-house Committee <br /> comprised of multiple disciplines throughout the City, including the Police and Engineering <br /> Departments and Administrative staff. The Committee meets monthly. The purpose of this <br /> Committee is to problem solve traffic related issues. <br /> <br /> Tom Murphy, a Pleasanton resident, addressed Council regarding the need for lighted <br /> tennis courts on the Bernal property. He believed Council did not support the placement of the <br /> ACE Train Station on the Bernal property if it could be avoided, and suggested using this area <br /> for the placement of lighted tennis courts. He noted that a study was 'to be conducted to <br /> address the need for lighted tennis courts, which was troublesome to those in favor of lighted <br /> tennis courts because the feeling was why would this study need to be conducted for lighted <br /> tennis courts and not other uses. He asked if this study was conducted? <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky pointed out that as part of the General Plan update, Council has directed <br /> the Parks and Recreation Commission to work on a Master Plan for ail fields in Pleasanton and <br /> what the needs are for build out, which includes all sports, including tennis.
