Mr. Fialho said it varies depending on the piece of equipment. Staff will create a
replacement cycle for each of these pieces of equipment so that at the end of five years, the
equipment is either replaced or continues in operation. The thought is that over time, sufficient
funding would be set-aside through an internal service mechanism to make sure that there are
sufficient revenues to replace this equipment. He pointed out that there are maintenance costs
associated with this equipment. Staff typically does not ask Council to execute a lease
purchase agreement for maintenance equipment but because this is a new operation, it is more
cost advantageous for the City to enter into a lease/purchase agreement. As equipment
reaches its useful life, the City will have sufficient funds set aside to purchase new equipment to
replace it.

Ms. McGovern asked if staff met with CourseCo to discuss everything included on the
maintenance purchase equipment list, and if it was mutually agreed upon that this is the
equipment that is needed.

Mr. Iremonger said staff met with CourseCo and went through the list to make sure that
everything included on the list would be needed and used.

Mr. Brozosky asked if the price of this equipment is comparable to what the City would
pay for parks maintenance, or is this considered specialized equipment that the City does not
normally purchase.

Mr. Iremonger said some of the equipment is specialized and some is not.

It was moved by Ms. McGovern, seconded by Mr. Sullivan, to adopt Resolution 05-
027, a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a lease/purchase agreement
with Bank of America to purchase maintenance equipment for the Callippe Preserve Golf
Course.

The roll call vote was taken as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern and Sullivan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Hosterman
ABSTAIN: None

6_~e
2005 City Council Meetino Schedule.
