The Summit will feature an Art Contest, which is
open to Pleasanton students from Kindergarten to twelfth grade. The theme of the contest is
"Environmental Stewardship in Pleasanton." The art contest was a recommendation of the former
Pleasanton Energy Committee. The deadline for the art contest has been extended to 5 p.m., Friday,
April 15. Entrees are to be submitted to the City Manager's Office. More information about the art
contest is available on the City's website. More information regarding the Go Green Earth Summit
can be found at www.qoqreeninitiative.orq. He noted that the City flag is at half-mast to honor the
passing of Pope John Paul II. He believed it appropriate for the City to acknowledge Pope John
Paul's life because of his outreach to the world community as an advocate for world peace, and his
efforts on behalf of the less fortunate people of the world and his roll as a worldwide spiritual leader.

2.
