As a new Commissioner, the very first project has was assigned was the
stabilization of the Alviso Adobe Community Park. He noted that this is a unique project
for the City primarily because of its historic value to the community. The property has
traceable history and there are artifacts on the site. This Park presents a unique
opportunity for the City to preserve and share with the community a part of the City's
history. He noted that the engineering reports state that the project will cost $900,000
more than the total funding that is currently available. He reported that the Parks and
Recreation Commission has recommended to Council that this project be retained as its
top priority. The Commission has submitted recommendations for funding. He asked
the community and Council not to forget this project as it goes through the Capital
Improvement Program process.

Howard Neely, a Pleasanton resident, invited Council and the community to
attend an Easter Sunrise service at Shadow Cliffs on Sunday, March 27.

There were no further speakers.

There was a break at 7:44 p.m.

The meeting reconvened at 7:47 p.m.

Pleasanton City Council 4 03/15/05
Minutes
