Vanessa Kawaihau, a Happy Valley resident, said the Happy Valley residents
were pleased that the southern driving range poles were removed. The residents are
wondering about the status of removing or realigning the other driving range poles. The
Happy Valley residents would like to receive confirmation from the City that the driving
range will not open until October 2005 concurrently with the opening of the golf course.
She noted that some of the Happy Valley residents are not pleased that the previous
Council approved a supplemental Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that will look at an
alternative for a bypass read, which is contradictory to what has been presented to the
Happy Valley community. The Happy Valley residents asked Council to respect its
previous commitments to study the bypass road.
