Ms. McGovem mentioned that the School District has not determined what type
of high school is needed. The School District has been looking at what it means to be a
world-class school system and how does it meet those needs. There has been some
discussion about some type of charter school that could be part of the business area.

Mr. Sullivan referred to comments made earlier this evening by Mr. Page
regarding the inaccessibility of Hearst Elementary School. He was informed that this
was the School District's decision.

Ms. McGovern believed this item needed to be discussed at the next School
District Liaison Committee meeting.

Mr. Brozosky mentioned that he attended Safeway's Grand Reopening. He
asked how much of the Livermore Amador Valley Water Management Agency bond
proceeds had been spent and the purpose of the bond.

Mayor Hosterman indicated that the Livermore Amador Valley Water
Management Agency Committee has not had this discussion, as there are other issues
that take precedent, which include water capacity issues. She indicated that the pipeline
has almost been completed and as of the Committees last meeting, all of the treated
wastewater is being transported over the hill into the new pipe. The Committee is looking
at possible types of energy efficient ways of moving water over the hill, as well as ways
to spend less of the ratepayer's money.

Mr. Sullivan mentioned that he attended the Alameda County Waste
Management Authority Committee meeting. The Committee reorganized the
Subcommittee Membership within the overall Committee. He mentioned that the
Committee would be discussing the composting facility near Sunol.

Mayor Hosterman asked staff to provide copies of the minutes of all of the
regional and local committees to Council.

9. CLOSED SESSION

Council adjourned to a closed session at 11:45 p.m. to confer with real property
negotiator Nelson Fialho regarding acquisition of the Alameda County Transportation
Corridor. The remainder of the items listed under Closed Session was deferred to a later
January 18, 2005.

Pleasanton City Council 25 01104105
Minutes
