__ Mr. Sullivan congratulated the Pleasanton Energy Committee for the work it <br /> accomplished. He did not want to lose the focus on energy, sustainable energy and <br /> environmental issues. He would like for Council to consider a Commission on energy <br /> and the environment that broadens the focus and is at a higher level than the <br /> Pleasanton Energy Committee. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman shared Mr. Sullivan's concerns. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mayor Hosterman, to recognize <br /> the accomplishments and work products of the Pleasanton Energy Committee <br /> (PEC); to direct staff to incorporate the recommendations of the PEC for <br /> consideration at the City Council Priority workshop; and to acknowledge that the <br /> PEC members may still be of service to staff in an advisory capacity on an "as <br /> needed" basis. <br /> <br /> Ms. McGovern believed it was the right opportunity for the City to look at an <br /> energy plan for the community based upon the fact that the City is going through a <br /> General Plan update. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, and <br /> Mayor Hosterman <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br />--- ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Item 8h <br /> Tentative cancellation of Aqricultural Preserve (Williamson Act) contract on <br /> property owned bv Loneetar California within the Vineyard Avenue Corridor <br /> Specific Plan. (SR 04:297) <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman adjourned the regular meeting at 10:46 p.m. to a Closed <br /> Session of the City Council to confer with legal counsel concerning potential litigation <br /> against RMC Lonestar and Granite Construction concerning the asphalt plant on Stanley <br /> Blvd. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky recused himself from participating in the Closed Session due to a <br /> financial conflict of interest. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hosterman reconvened the regular meeting at 11:18 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky believed the Williamson Act required the City to make certain <br /> findings that these contracts cannot be used elsewhere. He asked what the City does to <br /> see if there are any other parcels within the City that are not currently covered by the <br /> Williamson Act? <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush noted that staff has received a list of properties from the Alameda <br /> County Assessor's Office that is sUbject to Williamson Act contracts.
