MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL December 7, 2004 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7.'00 p.m. Mayor Pico led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He said that is has been an honor to serve the community as Mayor for the past four years and as Councilmember for 12 years. He considered it a privilege to work with one of the finest City staff and thanked the employees for their dedication and service to the community. The City is in good financial condition and the new City Council will guide the City in the future. He gave special recognition and thanked his wife, Karen Pico, and campaign treasurer, Brenda Weeks, for their support. Supervisor Scott Haggerty provided introductory remarks. He gave acclamations for Mayor Pico's many years of public service to the City of Pleasanton and presented to him a proclamation and a Raiders shirt in recognition of Mr. Pico's recent appointment to the Oakland Football Marketing Association. Assembiymember Ellen Corbett thanked Ms. Ayala and Mr. Campbell for their dedication in serving the community of Pleasanton. She commented favorably on Mayor Pico's many years of public service and presented him with a resolution. She congratulated Ms. Hosterman for being elected Mayor and welcomed Ms. McGovern and Mr. Sullivan to the City Council. 2. ROLL CALL City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer Hosterman, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; and Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works. 3. SPECIAL ITEMS Item 3a ApProval of the minutes of 09/07/04~ 09/211041 10/05/04~ 10/19/04~ 11102/04, and the Joint Powers Financina Authority minutes of 11/02/04.
