Mr. Campbell liked the lake and the berm ideas. He was hopeful that there was <br />access to the island for pedestrians to walk around it. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala thought the central hill is intriguing but the overall plan was not clear. <br />She believed that the sports fields arrangement was too symmetrical, and she would <br />prefer gravel parking for the sports fields. #he thought this design concept should place <br />more emphasis on the cultural arts location as viewed from Bemal Avenue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky favored this plan. He liked the location of the amphitheater/lake <br />relationship, bridges, and contours of the landforms. He would prefer grass pavers for <br />the parking surfaces. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pico did not like the location of the sports fields along Bemal Avenue. He <br />believed that there were too many trees along Bernal Avenue and in general. <br /> <br /> Council provided comments on Submittal #2 - M.D. Fotheringham, Landscape <br />Architects, Inc., San Francisco, California. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pico liked the idea of the civic arts center being the focal point, as well as <br />its relationship to the lake. He was concerned about the outlying views of scenic hillsides <br />being blocked from Bernal Avenue, and questioned how well the natural creek related to <br />the agricultural area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky liked the civic arts center plan but would prefer to see it closer to <br />Bernal Avenue. He questioned how the natural creek would relate to the agricultural <br />area. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala liked the layout of the civic arts center but not the location of it. She <br />preferred to have the open space reduced within the sports fields' area and to increase the <br />open space in the central open space area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell believed that the sports fields are too spread out. He was <br />concerned about the civic arts location and vehicular access concept. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hosterman favored this design. She liked the placement of the sports fields <br />but believed that they should be grouped closer together. She liked the natural waterways <br />and the civic arts center being the focal point of the property with a water feature located <br />next to it.
