MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Councilmember Hostetman presented Certificates of Appreciation to <br />commissioners leaving office: Susan Miller and Joan Tenbrink, Civic Arts Commission; <br />Jeff Leuchi, Economic Vitality Committee; Pat Lane and Ann Radford, Human Services <br />Commission; David Choy, Parks and Recreation Commission; Lindsey Bauer, Anna <br />Curdn, Sarah Rachmiel, and Tyler Sussman, Youth Commission. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk administered the oath of office to newly appointed Commission <br />and Committee members: Holly Nelson and Tony Rivera, Civic Arts Commission; <br />Robert Coaldey and Judy Wheeler Ditter, Economic Vitality Committee; Johnny Ponton, <br />David Lambert and Roberta Lewis, Human Services Commission; Kurt Kummer, Parks <br />and Recreation Commission; Brian Arkin, Planning Commission; Chris Arkin, Lanren <br />Russman, Elisse I.aBarre, Nimi Mastey, Jackie Bierre, and Spencer Sussman, Youth <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Hosterman presented a commendation to the Foothill Little League <br />for receiving a National Award from the Positive Coaching Alliance. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hosterman presented a commendation to the Foothill High School Women's <br />Varsity Soccer Team for winning the North Coast Section Championship. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hosterman also presented a commendation to the Foothill Science Olympiad <br />Club participants for placing 8th out of nineteen teams competing in the NorCal Olympiad <br />competition in Sacramento. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hosterman presented a commendation to Brian Blank in recognition of his <br />pursuit of the coveted Eagle Scout designation by choosing to conduct a Tri-Valley <br />education and outreach program entitled "Flag Day Education" in which he seeks to <br />inform residents of Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore on the proper care and treatment <br />of the flag of the United States of America. Accepting on Brian's behalf was his father, <br />Phil Blank. <br /> <br />Other Speakers <br /> <br /> Ira Leitner, 4760 Mahogany Street, Dublin, addressed Council regarding his <br />opposition to the Dublin IKEA store, and shared his concerns that traffic will have an <br />impact on the City of Pleasanton.
