believe all of the local pilots that fly out of the Livermore Municipal Airport were
courteous and respectful of thc residential community in Pleasanton. He encouraged
Council to continue its pursuit in addressing the City's concerns and issues related to the
operations of the airport.

Joe Ely, 3423 Windstar Court, has resided in the Fairlands area for the past 14
years and the noise from the jets has increased substantially. His main objection to the
proposed airport expansion was related to the increase in volume of jet air traffic, which
will impact east Pleasanton residents significantly.

A written communication was received from Jan Newsted, 4269 Diavila Avenue.
She indicated her concern about the potential negative impact of increased noise and air
pollution from the jet traffic over her home and the City of Pleasanton. Since Pleasanton
and Livermore live cheek to cheek, a spirit of cooperation should exist between the two
cities to ensure positive outcomes of change for all residents.

A copy ora written communication to the Livermore Planning Commission from
Stephanie Ohye Yue, a Pleasanton resident, was presented to Council. She outlined her
concerns and issues regarding the Livermore Municipal Airport Master Plan Update and
the drait Negative Declaration.

A written communication was received from Marcy Wardrope, 2368 Gloria
Court. She mentioned her concerns regarding any type of expansion, particularly as it
related to the noise generated from airplanes.

Mayor Pieo closed the public comment.

Mr. Campbell supported Mayor Pico's ideas.

Mr. Brozosky also supported Mayor Pico's ideas. He was unhappy with the lack
of open communication that the City of Livermore has had with its Dublin and
Pleasanton neighbors. He believed the expansion of the airport would not be a bad idea if
it were centrally located in the City of Livermore. Because the expansion is proposed for
the edge of Livermore, the impacts are more to its neighbors than to the airport. His
biggest concern was related to the increase in jet flights and the noise that they generate.
He pointed out that airport traffic has increased significantly in the past 10 years. He
believed the impacts of the airport were not just related to the residents who lived within
the flight path of the airport, but the entire City of Pleasanton. He believed the City of
Livermore needed to listen to its neighbors and prepare an EIR.

Ms. Ayala supported Mayor Pieo's ideas. She noted that she would personally
call the Mayor and councilmembers of the City of Livermore. She encouraged all of the
residents who are affected by the operation of the airport to attend the Livermore Airport
Commission meetings.

Pleasanton City Council 19 04/06/04
Minutes
