For the first year, Ms. Knutson said the fee would be $19.95 per person per visit.

Ms. Hosterman asked what the fee would be at~er the first year.

Ms. Knutson noted that the fee would be based on the market and will need to be
reviewed annually. The fee could increase but it would be dependent on the market and
the competition.

Ms. Hosterman asked what the fee would be for parking.

Ms. Knutson said the parking fee would be $6.00.

Ms. Hosterman did not believe California Splash would get Pleasanton youth off
of the streets and provide them something to do on a daily and weekend basis. She
believed that the expansion of California Splash would create a situation, which would
only allow for special family events.

Ms. Knutson said that California Splash will offer season passes and special
passes. Students with an identification card would be able to use it to receive a special
discount or purchase a multiple use pass, or seasonal pass. This would allow children the
opportunity to use the park on a daily basis. She was optimistic that the camp programs
would be successful, which would be another opportunity to get kids offthe street and
gave them something to do. The camps will mn two weeks per season.

Ms. Ayala asked Ms. Knutson if Califomia Splash was open to the idea of
discounts for Pleasanton residents, and would it apply to the seasonal passes?

Ms. Knutson said yes.

Ms. Hosterman said she wanted the prices to be affordable. If California Splash is
telling Council it is going to provide a park that will meet the needs of Pleasanton youth,
it needs to show Council that it will be able to do so, which is not what she was hearing.

Ms. Knutson was unclear as to what affordable prices for Pleasanton youth would
mean. She mentioned that certain season passes could be in the range of up to $60.
California Splash was hoping not to go this route with season passes. One of the ideas
was to allow youth to use their student body identification cards as proof of being a
Pleasanton resident and obtaining a pass. She mentioned that California Splash is open to
discuss what this might mean.

Ms. Hosterman said that she needed to see the price figures before Council
entered into this discussion.

Mr. Brozosky said that he had a discussion with EBRPD regarding the motorboat
races as this also affected him. Apparently, residents have not complained about the

Pleasanton City Council 19 03/16/04
Minutes
