Given the complexity of AB x41 and SB x43, Ms. McKeehan would be surprised
if March 1 would be a significant deadline. She mentioned that this matter could be
placed on an upcoming agenda, which would allow Ms. Hosterman sufficient time to
read and feel comfortable with all aspects of AB x41 and SB x43.

By Council consensus, recommendations one and two as reflected in the staff
report were continued to an upcoming meeting.

Mr. Bmzosky requested copies of the entire text of AB x41 and SB x43 be
provided to Council.

Vice Mayor Ayala opened the matter for public comments.

Richard Asturias, 1475 Cedarwood Lane, Ste. 5, recommended Council remove
the statements within the two bills that stated that the a chiropractor is not able to
comment on disability. He noted that one bill states all disability and one bill states only
permanent disability, but effectively, it removes one portion of health care from the entire
picture of workers compensation on a treating level.

Vice Mayor Ayala closed the public testimony.

9. ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. to meet again
in a Regular Session on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers
located at 200 Old Bemal Avenue.

Respectfully submitt:~ ;

Dawn G.
