MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 2003 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation <br />et al. v. Pleasanton Unified School District) <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel regarding settlement of pending Worker's <br />Compensation claims of Panl Helms and Robert Bonmda <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico <br />at 7:08 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brozosky led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He <br />reminded the public of the first General Plan update community meeting to be held on <br />Wednesday, September 17 at Lydiksen Elementary School beginning at 7 p.m. He <br />encouraged everyone to become involved and provide feedback. This will be the first of <br />several meetings. Also being held this evening at the School District is the first forum for <br />the School District board for the upcoming election in November. The previous School <br />Board election had a small turnout. He wa~ hopeful this year would have a larger turnout <br />as nine candidates are running. He encouraged everyone to become informed of the <br />current issues of the School District, as it's a big infrastructure for the City. He also <br />invited everyone to attend the "Great Rib Cook Off" to be held downtown on Main Street <br />this weekend. Lastly, he mentioned that early voting for the October 7th Statewide <br />Special Election was available in the City Clerk's office. Early voting began on <br />September 15 and would continue through September 26. <br /> <br />2. ROLLCALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer <br />Hosterman, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staffmembers present were: Deborah McKeehan, <br />City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; <br />Nelson Fialho, Deputy City Manager; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; and Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 09/16/03 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
