Crofton proposal did not have the same impact. He felt the addition was within the character of
the existing neighborhood.

Ms. Ayala agreed to amend her motion with regard to the air conditioning unit.

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Mr. Brozosky, to adopt Resolution No.
03-088, denying the appeal and approving design review approval under Case PADR-279,
with the addition of a condition to mitigate the impact of the noise of the air conditioning
unit.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers- Ayala, Brozosky, Hosterman, and Mayor Pict
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember - Campbell
ABSTA1N: None

Mr. Brozosky said many concerns had been expressed about increasing the size of
houses. There is a General Plan review process going on and he urged the people of the
community to participate in that process and perhaps suggest policies that could be added to the
General Plan.

Mayor Pict pointed out it is 11:30 p.m. and the Council policy is not to start new items
after that time without approval of the Councilmembers. He reviewed the remainder of the
agenda and Council determined it appropriate to continue the remaining items. He asked if
anyone wanted to speak on those items even though no action would be taken.

Item 6e
Proposal for Bernal Property Block Party,. (SR 03:208)

Kurt Kummer, 4456 Clovewood Lane, indicated the committee needed guidance on when
to have the party. Council had said do it in the fall and he felt there were hardly any dates
available because of other events. The soonest available date is October 11 and that does not
allow enough time to plan the party.

Ms. Ayala asked if the committee was comfortable it had enough time? She wanted a
real party, not just a few groups involved. She wanted a real community event. She wanted
enough time to do that.

Mr. Kummer felt the committee would be more comfortable setting the date for April.
This is a big project, involving hundreds of people.

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Mr. Brozosky, to postpone the party to
spring 2004.

Pleasanton City Council 20 07/15/03
Minutes
