fees, etc. Three million dollars may seem like a lot for improving a 10,000 sq. fi. building, but <br />that is not purely construction costs. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wolfe pointed out that this also includes the cost of relocating the veterans' meeting <br />space during the construction period. <br /> <br />Ms. Hosterman asked for clarification of the improvements to energy efficiency. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fulford said this is a well insulated building. The new systems would be state of the <br />art energy efficient systems. Staff will also use various green building standards. Part of energy <br />efficiency includes programming use of the space. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hosterman strongly supported any measures to make this building as energy efficient <br />as possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Pico invited public comment on this item. <br /> <br /> Frank Auf der Maur, Jr., 148 Spring Street, representing the Pleasanton Downtown <br />Association, Design and Beautification Committee, supported the proposed restoration of the <br />Veterans Building.
